Bedroom Walls Update

Well, after talking about it for ages, the Husband and I finally got round to switching up the wall displays in our bedroom. Months ago, now, we turned the wardrobe to face more into the room and rotated the bed by 90°. Of course, what we wanted to be a simple change took much more work than we'd anticipated what with huge-scale furniture in a room that could make someone a very spacious closet. So our intention to switch round our floating bookshelf and gallery wall didn't happen at the same time as the furniture move. And with our preferred lamps both awkwardly far into the room (one required walking all the way to the far wall, the other, clambering over the bed), this was a change that was long overdue.

So much better! Now, we can reach the lamp from the door, and our nice gallery wall is actually visible when you're in our house. You don't have to crawl into our bed or peep in from the car park to see our pictures. In fact, let's get a closer look at that wall...

So, from left-to-right, top-to-bottom:
1) A postcard of Saints Peter and Paul from the Sackler Gallery, Smithsonian.
2) A postcard of a bedroom by Lichtenstein from the TATE Modern, London.
3) A Royal Copenhagen plate from my step-father commemorating the first Christmas the Husband and I spent as a family. (Aww!)
4) A postcard from the Roman Baths, Bath.
5) A postcard of Jesus on his ass on Palm Sunday from the Sackler Gallery, Smithsonian.
6) A print from The Drifting Bear commemorating the date and place where we got engaged. (Right next to the pond in Holland Park's Kyoto Garden in London.)
7) 16 Valentine's hearts the Husband made to say why he loves me that I turned into some fun art in this DIY project.

Now that I've been able to add those three new items to the wall, it really has some nice presence in the room. When it came to re-arranging everything, I just laid it all out on the floor until I found the look I wanted, then took a picture on my phone and worked from that when I positioned everything on the wall.

Oh! And cheaters' note: we didn't remove the Rawl plugs in that wall from when we first hung the floating shelf. I just aligned the bottom of the lower row of frames to cover all the Rawl plugs that were still in place. You know, just in case we change our minds again and shift the room around once more.

Though, I like it how it is, so I hope we don't try to change it much more. However; some paint would be nice...
