Oh, and I meant to mention: one of my new tops made its first appearance today. Since it was a crisp 14*C for most of the day, not only did I break out the layers, but the knee-high boots as well. There are many reasons why autumn is my favourite time of year, and knee-high boots are just one of them.

Side note: I never knew until a recent bout of online coveting (thank you, Joules) and a walk up to the nearest shopping centre that those puffy vests are more correctly called gillets. Tell me I'm not the only person to be surprised by this terminology. I suppose I'll just have to add it to the list of new and pretentious words I'm learning. Gillet, ombre, giclee...
